I have a mini synthesizer. It is a little keyboard with USB connection.
Its buttons have the equal organization that the key of a piano. And each one
sound like a piano. It’s wonderful because I can compose different musical idea
and record in a kind of computer program that can be compatible with the
keyboard. This program could be free downloaded from the internet. I have the Reason
program. With the Reason, I have the possibility of change the sound of my mini
synthesizer, I can simulate others instruments and I can record each different
sound in a different track too. Then, I can synchronize and mix this tracks
depending on my musical idea. I use this
piece of technology in the week (when I don´t have some work in the university)
or in the weekend. I like so much this machine too because it´s very
transportable and it needs only one little cable USB to operate. I like its black and grey colors too, on top of that i bought this musical instrument with my first salary.

Expectations for a new semester
My priority is to approve all the subjects I chose this semester. Also, I need to found an investigation topic for my thesis. I´m thinking to vinculate migration and music for that purpose. My subjects this semester are five: Sociology of culture, Power and domination in Michel Foucault and Pierre Bourdieu (sociology of body), Workshop on investigation I, Economy I and English. My favorite subject in this moment is Power and domination. The topics of study are very interesting and Foucault is a very important theorist by the way.
Different of my career, I also sing eventually in some musical projects with some friends. I love to watch movies from different countries too. Tony Gatlif is a french director of gypsy-argelian descent and I recommend all his movies. These movies are about gypsy culture and each one is special and one of a kind.
I think I will enjoy this new academic semester except for the economy subject because I don´t like so much the contents that I have to study. Anyway, it is a great semester.

Hi!
My name is Amarú
Araya González. I was born in Santiago of Chile, in Paula Jara Quemada
hospital. I have lived in Santiago all my life. First, when I was ine years
old, I lived with my parents. I usually used to stay in my grandmother ´s house.
One day, for money problems and because my parents broke up, I would live with
my mother and my grandmother. I was eleven years old when this happened.
The time passed.
The school finished and I decided to study sociology in the University of Chile.
It was a difficult decision because I loved music and I liked to read and write
at that moment. So, I choose study sociology
and take the music as a hobby. Now I’m
studying the last year of my career and I’m also trying to lear to read score by flute and alt sax.
